Our Legal Journal and Podcast
Alongside campus intellectual events, public conferences, and online debates and panels, the Forum sponsors both an online legal journal, Reshut HaRabim [The Public Domain], and a Hebrew-language legal podcast, “HaShimuah” [The Hearing]. Each of these publications is meant to offer a platform for in-depth discussion of conservative and classical liberal ideas in law that often get little hearing in other forums for public discourse.
Reshut HaRabim has been particularly influential in its initial years, drawing contributions from a variety of Israeli scholars and judicial figures, and appearing both on academic syllabi and in several major court opinions.
Scalia in Hebrew
In 2021, we were proud to partner with Shibolet Library, an affiliate organization, to publish the first-ever collection of writings by Justice Antonin Scalia in Hebrew. That book, “In the Name of the Law: On the Court, the Constitution, and the Rule of Law,”  offers a comprehensive look at concepts such as federalism, originalism, and the role of judge in democratic society. It is available for purchase from Sella Meir publishers at this link.
The Classics Collection
The Forum also sponsors the translation of classical and modern legal texts to Hebrew for inclusion in our online library, the Classics Collection. This resource is meant to enrich academic and legal scholarship in Israel, offering perspectives which are often deemphasized in Israeli legal discourse, and sometimes simply popularizing especially important sources which feature on Israeli syllabi in English, discouraging students from in-depth study.
The Collection features Western thinkers ranging from H.L.A Hart to Justice Jonathan Sumption and Judge Richard Posner alongside original Hebrew-language scholarship by Israeli legal intellectuals such as Professor Daniel Friedmann, Professor Ruth Gavison, and Justice Moshe Landau.
